Victim Blaming

Just read on an EHCP as an Outcome....

X will learn to stand up to Bullies..

Is it just me or does this feel like Victim Blaming..

Am I being overly sensitive? It is weird, I know that is an essential skill in life really, but I find it hard to read a document like an EHCP putting the emphasis on the child achieving this.

To me it feels like saying to an adult who has been attacked;

Jessica must learn to not be abused by men...

I might change it to ---

X will learn to identify unkind behaviour and tell a teacher who then needs to DO THEIR BLOODY JOB!
