Happiness and Success

This should be written at the start of all EHCPs.

‘Success is not the key to happiness. If you love what you are doing, you will be successful.’

Our children have so much importance placed on how ‘well’ they are doing academically or in making friends or playing with others…

These things are not a measure of success.

You don’t have to look far to find adults who did not find success as children and young people within those areas and now have found their own success through fulfilling their passions.

Charlie and I are both Autistic parents of autistic children.

Here we work around our own families.

We all only do the tasks we love.

We spend our days loving our work, because strangely we are sooo into EHCPs it’s ridiculous

Send Family Instincts various business activities are led by 4 autistic adults. Some of us are medicated, some have mental health diagnosis, some attention differences.

Our passions are EHCPS, SEND, Social media, IT, Process and admin, Plants, Hospitality, Make up and beauty, Gaming, Psychology, Data protection and many more.

I have always worked within my autistic passions. It has meant that I have always been noticed for my success at work and my capability.

Success is doing what you love, and if we can find that for our kids, help them realise what they love, not what people think they should do ‘well’ at, then they will without doubt thrive in education, work and life.

Use this summer to really find out and embrace the things your kids love. If it’s watching films or painting pictures. Scooting or writing. Even if it’s being explosive and energetic.

My energy, whilst challenging as a child has made me driven and focused and take risks in my work and life that have brought me true joy.
